Brief: Create a travel shop, inspired by California style terraces.
This project was a real gem to work on- the clients came to us with a very clear vision of what they wanted to achieve and how they wanted to invite their customers on a journey a soon as they stepped into their shop.
One of my favourite little accents was a yellow umbrella we placed in the front window of the shop; we printed ‘It’s time to Travel’ on it- I loved it because it was so perfectly coined with the name of the agency and British weather.
The shop was designed in zones, it had a stunning reception desk that had concealed LED lighting behind the soft flamingo pink panel, a bookshelf for the library of catalogues, a stunning sitting area with bespoke sofas and chairs that could have been equally been placed in a California style sunken lounge, and in the back, it had three most amazing curved bookings booths. The booking booths had two different upholstery fabrics, a stunning teal and sunny yellow that were reminiscing of the colours of the Californian sky and waters. We divided the space with vertical panels made of beech wood. The whole space had a carefully crafted plan that provided both ambient, task and accent lighting.
Sadly, because of Covid and travel restrictions, after a few amazing months, the shop eventually closed and was relocated to smaller premised to Cornwall, UK.
